From Lochend Fort Augustus, 23 miles in 14hrs 12mins 01 second. Started at around 4:30pm (exact time tbc) meaning large chunk of my swim was in the dark. I finished this morning. It’s hard to put the experience into words, it was a dream come true, and took me beyond what I thought might be possible, but something I wanted with so much determination, I’ve fought for this swim over the last few months & today.
Huge thanks to my lovely crew mate Jane who supported my swim & made it possible, along with Kevin, Kathy and Mark from The Kings Swimmers for taking me across the Loch under such care and tons of experience. It was tough, of course it was, it hurt a lot, I faced my own demons at times, but it was also one of the best experiences of my life, swimming in such a beautiful place, even at night. Now to rest up. Thank you for all the support on the water near & from afar from so many people. Just because something is tough doesn’t make it impossible!
